Project Scope 

CTS was engaged by BCM to undertake the recovery of redundant Insulated Block Joints (IBJs) across the Ascot Lines following completion of resignalling works. The programme involves identifying and planning multiple recovery locations and delivering IBJ removals during planned weekend closures, ensuring safe removal and reinstatement of the permanent way.

Delivery

CTS manages the works on a site-by-site basis, providing full delivery capability and coordinating all resources required to complete each possession efficiently. Our responsibilities included:

• Scoping and planning sites for IBJ recovery, including access, methodology, and sequencing.
• Supplying all required plant, materials, labour, engineering, and supervisory staff.
• Engaging and managing sub-contractors to support cutting, removal, reinstatement, and associated track works.
• Coordinating weekend closures and ensuring safe system of work compliance.
• Completing reinstatement, testing, and formal handback of each site in accordance with Network Rail standards.

Outcome

The works are being delivered safely and efficiently across multiple possessions, supporting the successful close-out of redundant signalling infrastructure. CTS continues to provide a flexible, responsive delivery model, enabling BCM to maintain programme momentum across the Ascot Lines.
