Project Scope 

Engaged to provide specialist consultancy services in support of the slab track works package for the Fornebu Line metro extension. The commission included development of slab track design proposals, provision of technical advice, production of construction methodologies, and assistance in preparing technical specifications for inclusion within the track works tender documentation.

Delivery

CTS supported Dragados throughout the design and pre-construction phase, ensuring that the proposed slab track solution was fully integrated with the tunnel and station civil works. Technical input covered alignment interfaces, constructability within confined underground environments, sequencing considerations, and long-term performance requirements. Construction methodologies were developed to ensure safe, efficient installation aligned with programme constraints. CTS also assisted in refining the tender specifications to provide clarity, buildability, and compliance with project standards.

Outcome

Our involvement helped establish a robust, technically sound slab track solution for this major Oslo Metro extension, supporting successful procurement of the track works package and contributing to the delivery of critical new underground rail infrastructure serving the Fornebu corridor.
